The Ukrainian Ministry of Finance announced today, Thursday, that "the country will receive $1.25 billion from the United States as part of a World Bank project specific to Ukraine." The ministry stated that "the funding will be to provide support for vulnerable populations and for those whose work involves ensuring the performance of government functions and providing educational and medical services." It added, "It has collected grants and loans estimated at approximately $19.5 billion, in addition to 1.44 billion euros ($1.55 billion) as a result of the project." Ukraine relies on financial aid from its foreign partners to cover its budget deficit.
