Philippines Detects "Illegal" Presence of Over 135 Chinese Boats in the South China Sea

The Philippine Coast Guard reported on Sunday that it has detected an "illegal presence" of more than 135 boats belonging to a Chinese maritime militia in a reef area in the South China Sea. The statement added that the Coast Guard chief has ordered patrols near the area known as the Recto Bank, referred to by Manila as Julian Felipe Reef.
