The head of the Egyptian Authority for Information, Diaa Rashwan, affirmed in a statement today, Friday, that Egypt "is currently making utmost efforts with partners to return to a ceasefire as soon as possible and extend it for further periods, allowing for addressing the dire humanitarian conditions of our brothers in the Gaza Strip, which have reached disaster levels, whether by stopping the war against them or by facilitating the rapid and intensive entry of humanitarian and relief aid."
