International Investigation Demanded in the Killing of Journalist Issam Abdullah - Photos

A number of Lebanese journalists from various media outlets held a protest in front of the UN ESCWA building in downtown Beirut, called by the Journalists' Club, the "Journalists for Freedom" Association, the Alternative Syndicate, and the Photographers' Syndicate. This demonstration was in condemnation of the Israeli attack that led to the martyrdom of photographer Issam Abdullah and injured several journalists. They called for an international investigation, accountability, and the protection of media personnel who face assaults while fulfilling their duty in covering events. The protest was attended by MP Paula Yacoubian, the Media Commissioner of the Progressive Socialist Party, Saleh Hdaifeh, along with numerous colleagues. The protesters raised Palestinian flags and photos of Abdullah alongside Shireen Abu Akleh, the Al Jazeera journalist who was martyred, while calling for accountability against Israel for its crimes in Gaza and its violations against the media in Palestine and Lebanon.
