AS Roma, competing in Italy's Serie A, reported on Wednesday that "Tammy Abraham, the team's player, underwent surgery for his left knee's anterior cruciate ligament." The club stated in a statement: "The player will remain in the hospital in London for a few days before starting the rehabilitation program designed by the club's medical staff."
The England international striker sustained the injury last Sunday in the closing minutes of Roma's victory over Spezia, during his last match in Serie A this season.
The 25-year-old player has appeared in 54 matches across all competitions this season with Roma, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists.
