A 67-year-old university professor, who had been barred from positions at various colleges and universities in the state of Nevada, armed himself with gun magazines fitted to his waist before entering the campus building of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and shot three faculty members, according to U.S. police. After being killed by police in an exchange of gunfire, Anthony Pulito was found carrying nine 9mm gun magazines that he had legally purchased the previous year, as well as a list of targets, although none of the individuals he shot were on that list, police reported on Thursday. The suspect was killed in a shootout with police approximately 10 minutes after the first reports of gunfire at "Beam Hall," a building associated with the College of Business. Police are still unaware of the motive behind the Wednesday attack, which also left a visiting professor, 38, in critical condition in the hospital.
