Egyptian Mohamed Salah has broken a shared record in the UEFA Champions League, previously held by Didier Drogba, Sergio Aguero, Thierry Henry, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, after scoring a hat-trick against Rangers. Salah led Liverpool to a dominant 7-1 victory over Rangers in the fourth round of the group stage, scoring three goals in the 75th, 80th, and 81st minutes, and also assisted the seventh goal. Thanks to this hat-trick, Salah became the top scorer for a single English team in the Champions League, with a total of 38 goals. He surpassed the records of Drogba, Aguero, Henry, and Van Nistelrooy, each of whom scored 36 goals for their respective teams, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
