House Speaker Nabih Berri emphasized the importance of enhancing parliamentary relations between Lebanon and China across various fields, noting the People's Republic of China's supportive stance towards Lebanon in all international forums and its support for Palestinian rights. Berri praised China's role in facilitating the Saudi-Iranian agreement, highlighting its positive implications for progress and stability in the region.
During his reception of a delegation led by the member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Head of the Party's History and Literature Institute, Qiu Qingshan, accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Qian Minjian, on Tuesday at the second presidential office in Ain el-Tineh, Berri encouraged the Chinese side to invest in Lebanon across various sectors and contribute to the development and growth efforts.
Additionally, the Chinese delegation presented Speaker Berri with a symbolic gift from Chinese heritage, a map of the "Silk Road." Berri also discussed political updates and legislative matters during meetings with MP Haidar Nasser and later with MP Imad al-Hout, where topics of current political developments and legislative issues were addressed.
