As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces managed to identify the location of the mastermind and main planner of a smuggling operation involving Syrians attempting to cross illegally by sea. This individual, identified as A. H. (born in 1970, Lebanese), had evaded capture after a previous thwarted scheme by security agencies.
After careful surveillance, one of the Information Branch patrols spotted him in Al-Harisha, Akkar, and proceeded to apprehend him. During the investigation, he confessed to attempting to illegally smuggle Syrians by sea on a prior date, although this plan was foiled by security forces. He also admitted, according to a statement from the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, that he transported two stolen cars to the Bekaa region for a Syrian individual. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority based on judicial instructions.
