Pakistan to Hold General Elections in January

The Election Commission of Pakistan announced today, Thursday, that the general elections will take place in the last week of January 2024, instead of November this year. The commission stated, "The final list of new electoral constituencies will be ready and published by November 30, and the country will vote on the new date after a 54-day process, which includes submitting nomination papers and election campaigns." The elections are scheduled to occur after the parliament's term ended in August, which lasted five years. A caretaker government has been formed to oversee the elections.
