Kevin McCarthy's Reaction to His Ousting

Former U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy stated that he feels "very good" following his ousting after a majority vote for his removal from office. In press remarks, McCarthy noted that he took risks for the American people, saying, "I do not regret my efforts to build coalitions and find solutions, nor do I regret any decision I made that led to my ousting." He confirmed that he will not seek the position of Speaker again, stating, "I may have lost a vote today, but I fought for what I believe in—and I believe in America. It has been an honor to serve."
