Explosion at Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery in Iran

Official Iranian media reported on Monday that "one person was killed and four others injured in an incident that occurred at the Bandar Abbas refinery in southern Iran last week." The Oil Ministry's news agency "Shana" mentioned that "the incident took place late on the night of September 22 during emergency repairs," adding that "five maintenance workers were injured while one worker died from his injuries." An official from the Bandar Abbas refinery told official media, stating: "During the emergency repair process in one of the processing units of this refinery, five people were injured, and one of the injured died on Monday." Shana noted that the incident did not affect production at the refinery, which is one of the largest in Iran.
