United States Announces Humanitarian Aid for the Palestinian People

U.S. President Joe Biden announced today, Wednesday, that the United States will provide one hundred million dollars in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This funding will assist more than one million displaced individuals and those affected by the conflict by providing clean water, food, health support, medical care, and other essential needs. The statement noted, "The United States provides this assistance through trusted partners, including United Nations agencies and international NGOs." It continued: "Civilians cannot be blamed for what is happening and should not suffer because of the horrific terrorism of Hamas. The lives of civilians must be protected, and aid should urgently reach those in need. We will continue to work closely with partners in the region to emphasize the importance of respecting the law of war and supporting those who are trying to reach safety or provide assistance and facilitate access to water, food, medical care, and shelter."
