Indonesia's counter-terrorism unit announced on Tuesday the arrest of a man it described as "loyal to the Islamic State (ISIS)" who was planning an attack on the police security unit headquarters. The spokesperson for the Indonesian counter-terrorism unit stated that they "arrested the man during a raid at his home outside the capital Jakarta on Monday, where they found an ISIS flag, ammunition, and 16 firearms." The spokesperson mentioned that the suspect, an employee of a government railway company, informed authorities of his plan to attack a police facility, but did not disclose a timeline or motive. He added, "The suspect was a former member of a dissolved militant organization, posted content supporting ISIS on social media, and sought to raise funds to finance extremism via Telegram."
