Patriarch Raï on a Solidarity Visit to the South Tomorrow

A statement from the Catholic Media Center announced that His Beatitude Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Raï will be making a solidarity visit to the south leading a delegation from the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops, accompanied by the Council’s General Secretary, Father Claude Nader, to express his sympathy with the people of the south and the displaced.

Patriarch Raï will begin his visit from the Maronite Bishopric of Tyre at 10 AM tomorrow, Thursday, and will then move on to the Greek Catholic Bishopric. The visit will include a meeting with representatives of the Islamic and Christian spiritual sects in the region.

Father Abdo Abu Kasm, the director of the Catholic Media Center, stated that "the Patriarch's visit to the south was decided two weeks ago with the aim of showing solidarity with the residents, and it will be a humanitarian visit covering several southern areas, but away from the border regions." He pointed out that "the concern is not only for the Christians but for the south and all of Lebanon."
