Pope Calls for Prayer for Peace in Ukraine and the Middle East

Pope Francis urged the faithful today, Wednesday, to "pray for peace in Ukraine, the Middle East, Sudan, and all regions torn by war." During his weekly sermon in St. Peter's Square, the Pope said: "Brothers and sisters, let us pray for peace, especially in Ukraine, which is suffering greatly, and also in the Holy Land, Palestine, and Israel, and let us not forget Sudan." He added: "Let us think about all the places experiencing war; there are many conflicts. Let us pray for peace; every day, everyone should dedicate time to pray for peace." The Vatican has offered mediation in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but its efforts have not yet been successful.
