Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed that Serbia will maintain its neutral status despite being surrounded by NATO countries. During his visit to military equipment in the Serbian city of Niš on Friday, he stated, "We continue to invest substantial amounts of money, which are significant in proportion to our economy, but we consider ourselves the only militarily neutral state in this region." He added, "In reality, we are completely surrounded by countries belonging to one military alliance. However, we want to maintain our military neutrality with full responsibility, and to protect our airspace, our land, and our children ourselves, and we will continue to do so in the future." He emphasized, "We will not join any alliance."
