Vincent Kompany, the coach of Burnley, stated that his newly promoted team to the English Premier League can compete with other teams in the competition after earning their first point following their return to the top flight. Burnley drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest yesterday, and they also had a goal disallowed by the referee for handball.
Kompany believes that Burnley has not yet played at their full potential in any match during the first four rounds of the new Premier League season. He said, "We must fight for every point in this league, but there is a group of teams that we can compete with based on what I've seen in the four rounds."
He added, "We haven't shown our full level yet. If we succeed in continuing to improve, our team will advance significantly, and that’s the exciting part." Burnley, who lost their first three matches in the competition, currently sits in second to last place and will host Manchester United next Saturday.
