Army Stops Wanted Individuals and Seizes Stolen Vehicles

A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, supported by a contingent from the army, raided the homes of wanted individuals in the town of Brital and seized two stolen vehicles. The Army Command – Directorate of Guidance issued a statement saying: "On March 7, 2023, the aforementioned patrol stopped citizens (R.M.) and (S.N.) and the Syrian (A.A.) in the town of Hourtala, who were in a four-wheel-drive Jeep Cherokee. The first individual is an escaped prisoner from the Jeb Jenin prison, who, following the raid in Hourtala on February 16, 2023, insulted the army via social media and fired shots at a gas station in the town. The Syrian (A.A.) is wanted for crimes including: drug trafficking and promotion, counterfeit currency circulation, stolen vehicle trafficking, and firing on a patrol of the Intelligence Directorate on February 16, 2023. There was an exchange of gunfire between the three individuals and the patrol before their arrest, which resulted in the injury of the mentioned Syrian, who was transferred to a hospital for treatment. Furthermore, a quantity of Captagon pills, cocaine, a sum of counterfeit money, and a military-grade pistol were found inside the jeep."

The statement confirmed that "the seized items were handed over, and investigations with the detainees commenced under the supervision of the relevant authorities."
