Bloomberg reported, citing Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, that the Palestinian Authority is working with U.S. officials on a plan to manage the Gaza Strip after the war's conclusion. In an interview with Bloomberg from his headquarters in Ramallah on Thursday, Shtayyeh stated that the preferred outcome of the conflict is for Hamas, which currently governs the area, to become a smaller partner of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), aiding in the establishment of a new independent state encompassing the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem. Shtayyeh noted that there would be room for talks if Hamas is willing to reach an agreement and accept the political approach of the PLO, emphasizing that Palestinians should not be divided and asserting that Israel's objective of completely eliminating Hamas is unrealistic. Israel has vowed to eradicate Hamas.
