The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has revealed that it detained a Russian informant involved in preparing a Russian strike targeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his recent visit to the Mykolaiv region. It added that the informant was gathering intelligence about the visit on the eve of Zelensky's trip to Mykolaiv, noting that it had received information regarding the "subversive activities of the suspect" and adopted additional security measures. It is worth mentioning that Zelensky visited the region at the end of July.
In monitoring the detained individual's communications, the security unit confirmed that it also had the task of locating electronic warfare systems and ammunition depots of the armed forces. According to the investigation, the Russian operative was a resident of Ochakiv in southern Ukraine and a former seller in a military warehouse located within one of the military units in the area.
