Honduras Summons Its Ambassador to Israel for Consultation

The government of Honduras has summoned its ambassador to Israel for consultation due to the humanitarian situation faced by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, as announced by Foreign Minister Enrique Reina on the X platform this Friday. Reina stated: "In light of the serious humanitarian situation that the Palestinian civilian population is experiencing in the Gaza Strip, the government of President Xiomara Castro has decided to immediately summon the Republic of Honduras's ambassador to Israel, Mr. Roberto Martinez, for consultations." This decision made by Castro's leftist government follows similar actions taken by other countries in the region earlier this week. Chile and Colombia have summoned their ambassadors to Israel for consultations regarding the events surrounding the conflict in Gaza, while Bolivia has moved to sever diplomatic relations with Israel.
