The Israeli Ministry of Energy announced today, Tuesday, that Chevron has halted the export of natural gas via the East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) pipeline between Israel and Egypt and is now exporting gas through an alternative pipeline via Jordan. As fighting intensifies between Israel and militants in Gaza, sources in the energy industry indicated that the quantity of gas exported from the giant Israeli Leviathan field to Egypt has decreased, prioritizing supply to the local market, although it remains close to the designated quota.
