The Army Command – Guidance Directorate issued the following statement: "On December 1, 2023, as part of the monitoring of maritime borders and combating smuggling and illegal infiltration, a patrol from the Navy of the Army thwarted a smuggling operation using a boat off the coast of Tripoli. There were 110 people on board, including two Lebanese and 108 Syrians."
