An Egyptian woman became a "trend" overnight, becoming known on social media as the "Blue Dress Lady." However, her newfound fame negatively impacted her marital life, with her husband threatening divorce unless she deletes the video.
In detail, the woman, named Yasmin, from the Dakahlia Governorate, performed a dance at her friend's wedding, believing all attendees were women. A young man later shared the dance video on TikTok, which quickly went viral.
Yasmin recounted her argument with her husband, stating she was unaware someone was filming her. She asked social media users to delete the video to prevent further issues between her and her husband. She indicated her intention to file a complaint against the person who recorded the video, claiming they invaded her privacy by posting it and gaining significant views from it.
After the backlash she faced due to the video, Nihad Abu Al-Qumsan, a member of the National Council for Human Rights, defended her, asserting that she did nothing wrong and that the attacks from those she referred to as "internet rats" were unjustified.
