Death of American Game Show Host Bob Barker

Roger Neal, the media spokesperson for Bob Barker, the renowned host of the popular game show "The Price Is Right," announced today that the veteran television host passed away at the age of 99. Barker was a prominent figure on American television for half a century, including 35 years as the host of the most famous game show, and was an activist for animal rights. Barker, who hosted his show from 1972 to 2007, won 19 Daytime Emmy Awards, the most prestigious television awards in the U.S. The late host also played a memorable comedic role in the successful 1996 film "Happy Gilmore." Neal stated that Barker died this morning of natural causes at his long-time residence in Hollywood Hills, California.
