A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry pointed out today, Monday, that "Berlin sees no indications that Morocco's decision not to respond to offers of aid from Germany for earthquake victims is political." The spokesman stated, "Diplomatic relations between Germany and Morocco are good," adding that "the Moroccan side thanked Germany for its offer of assistance." He noted that "Germany learned from the floods it experienced in 2021 that led to casualties, and that coordinating aid is important during major disasters to ensure that rescue workers do not hinder one another." He continued, "We are confident that they (Morocco) have thought very carefully about the forces that can be deployed, where and how they can reach there, and what transportation capabilities are available, for example."
