The Russian Federal Security Service announced that it thwarted a car bomb attack orchestrated by Ukraine aimed at assassinating Russian businessman Konstantin Maloviev, a prominent nationalist supporter of Moscow's war in Ukraine. The Federal Security Service stated that it intervened to foil the plot, which involved planting a remote-controlled homemade bomb under the vehicle.
The Russian TV channel Zvezda aired a video allegedly from the Federal Security Service showing a man approaching a parked car before slipping underneath it for a moment. They later released another clip of a robot appearing to remove an object from beneath the vehicle.
Reuters could not verify the authenticity of the two clips, and Ukraine has not commented on the incident so far.
