Israeli Defense Minister Announces Timeline for Return of Residents in Gaza Envelope

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced on Thursday that he expects some residents of border towns with Gaza to be able to return to their homes in early next year. In a statement issued by his office, Gallant mentioned that “a meeting was held with senior officials in the Ministry of Defense regarding how to allow those living 4 to 7 kilometers from the Gaza border to return home in early 2024, after rehabilitating the towns and securing the borders according to the required security conditions.”
