The Moroccan government announced today, Tuesday, that "Royal Air Maroc, state-owned, plans to quadruple its fleet from the current 50 aircraft to 200 by 2037 to meet increasing demand." It noted that by 2037, it aims to attract 67 million passengers, while also seeking to position Casablanca among the top three air transport hubs in Africa. The details of the state's new capital contribution to Royal Air Maroc were not disclosed. The kingdom aims to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026, compared to 11 million last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism. In 2019, Morocco welcomed 13 million visitors. Last year, the sector's revenue more than doubled compared to 2021, reaching 91 billion dirhams, surpassing 2019 levels.
