The media office of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has clarified the rumors regarding a reported upcoming visit to the city of Nabatieh, initially scheduled for next Saturday. The office confirmed that such a visit was never planned in the prime minister's agenda for this week, therefore no cancellation has occurred.
In an official statement, the office labeled the circulating information as "completely unfounded," describing reports about the canceled visit as fabricated news.
Simultaneously, Salam expressed appreciation for the Lebanese Army's efforts to enhance its presence in villages and towns not under Israeli control. These measures aim to reassure citizens, stabilize the area, and facilitate the return of residents, in addition to ensuring the regular operation of official departments and institutions.
The media office also confirmed that Salam is closely monitoring the situation in Nabatieh and its surroundings, maintaining continuous communication with Imam Sheikh Abdul Hussein Sadek and the city's mayor, Abbas Fakhr Al-Din.
Salam expressed hope to visit Nabatieh at the earliest opportunity to show the state's support for its people and assist in their resilience and return to their city and towns.
This clarification comes amid recent security developments in Nabatieh and its vicinity following Israeli assaults. This coincides with the Lebanese Army's efforts to strengthen its presence, stabilize the situation, and ensure the normal functioning of official institutions in the area.
