Suicide of Egyptian Prosecutor During Interrogation

An incident of suicide occurred at the Egyptian Public Prosecution when a chief prosecutor jumped to his death in the lobby of the courthouse, due to his arrest at Cairo Airport. According to judicial sources, the prosecutor was detained after all necessary legal procedures were completed, and his resignation was accepted just before the investigation began. The sources clarified that investigations into the incident are still ongoing, and his body has been transferred to the forensic medicine department at Zeinhom morgue. It was indicated that he was arrested on charges of embezzlement and improper financial gain, as well as receiving bribes from a contractor.
