Mecca Prepares for Floods and Reduced Visibility: Red Alert Issued

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia predicts that the Mecca region will experience heavy rainfall, floods, and reduced horizontal visibility in the coming hours, issuing a red alert. The General Directorate of Civil Defense emphasized the need for caution and the importance of staying in safe areas, avoiding places where floods and ponds gather, and refraining from swimming in these unsuitable and dangerous areas.

They urged compliance with announced instructions through various media channels and social media platforms, as thunderstorm rain opportunities will continue across most regions of the Kingdom from tomorrow, Saturday, until next Wednesday.

It was noted that the Mecca region will be affected by moderate to heavy rains that may lead to flooding, hail, and active winds stirring dust and sand, affecting the holy city of Mecca, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, as well as the regions of Asir, Jizan, and Al-Baha.
