Putin Orders Government to Ensure Stability of Retail Fuel Prices

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian government on Wednesday to ensure the stability of retail fuel prices, in an effort to implement additional measures to balance the market following a ban on gasoline and diesel exports. Putin also told the government that it needs to act quickly and that reviewing taxes in the oil sector is among the options available. He added, "Measures have been taken, but prices are rising... the consumer needs a result."
