In a statement marking the signing of the messages regarding the demarcation of southern maritime borders, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah declared that "with the signing of the messages and the completion of formal steps, we have finished this phase, and concerning the resistance, the mission has come to an end. Accordingly, all the exceptional precautions and preparations that may have been taken by the resistance are now declared over." He emphasized that "the mission has been accomplished."
During his speech at the opening of the "Ardi Market" event at the "Sayyid al-Shohada" complex in the southern suburbs, he considered that "what has occurred from beginning to end and the results is a very significant victory for Lebanon, the state, the people, and the resistance, which has important implications and meanings." He indicated that "the details of the signing of the border demarcation from a formal point of view confirm that any talk of normalization is baseless and a misconception." He added, "Lebanese state officials have not taken any steps that would give the impression of normalization, and what was signed by President Michel Aoun is neither an international treaty nor recognition of Israel."
