Major indices on Wall Street opened lower on Tuesday, weighed down by bleak forecasts from Home Depot and retail sales data for April, which indicated that consumers are affected by rising prices and interest rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened down 73.23 points, or 0.22%, to 33,275.37 points, while the S&P 500 index fell by 8.33 points, or 0.20%, to 4,127.95 points. The Nasdaq composite index decreased by 38.16 points, or 0.31%, to 12,327.05 points.
