During the Sunday Mass in Bkerké, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai addressed the party leaders, stating: "What education do you provide for your youth? What loyalty to the nation do you instill in them? What we need in Lebanon is to prepare young people to be loyal to Lebanon, not to individuals or to another country! Brave youth for dialogue! Free in speaking the truth! Daring in listening to the voice of conscience in everything that contradicts justice, love, and the spirit of peace!
Rai asked, "Where is the political practice in Lebanon in relation to its mission and respect for the human person and their rights? Where is it in the development of the citizen? Where is it in providing peace, justice, and security stability? Where are you, party leaders, and what loyalty do you nurture in the youth of the nation?" Rai considered it unfortunate that "we do not have a single MP who dares, with the strength of conscience, to object to the failure to elect a president," adding: "Unfortunately, the political leaders have stifled within them the voice of conscience and the voice of God, and it has been silenced by their personal interests."
