Russian officials announced the destruction of two Ukrainian drones over the Moscow region on Monday, causing a temporary halt to flights at two airports in the Russian capital. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it jammed a Ukrainian drone in the Roski area to the west of the capital and later destroyed another in the nearby Estrinsky district. Arrivals and departures were briefly suspended at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports in Moscow but resumed later. Ukrainian drone attacks on border areas, as well as on the Russian capital, have increased in recent months, with repeated attacks on Moscow's financial district. In May, Russia reported that two Ukrainian drones had attempted to attack the Kremlin. Ukraine typically does not comment on the identity of those responsible for attacks on Russian territory, but its officials openly express satisfaction with these strikes.
