Karamy: A Water Pool Does Not Warrant Casualties and Reactions

Deputy Faisal Karamy stated to the newspaper "Al-Liwaa" regarding the latest information he has about the crime in Qurna al-Souda: "Only God knows the details of how it happened, so we must wait for the results of the investigation; the matter is in the hands of the judiciary. However, according to my information, the detainees from Bsharri and Dinniyeh are witnesses and not suspects or even persons of interest. Anyone who shows involvement, regardless of who they are or where they come from, must face punishment, and the important thing is that this incident does not happen again. Forming an official committee of ten parties will not resolve the issue of borders and water; this has a known legal mechanism." Karamy emphasized that "a water pool does not warrant casualties and blood from any side, nor does it justify some reactions calling for revenge, claiming that the blood of the victims will not go in vain—revenge against whom? We also do not accept that their blood goes to waste, but through law and justice. We and the people of Bsharri are one region, and we solve any dispute amicably; we do not wish to create any problems with our people in Bsharri."
