MP Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri pointed out that the "Iris" variant is present in the world and spreading quickly, with nothing preventing its arrival in Lebanon, especially with the tourism season, noting that it has been present globally since February. In an interview with "Sawt Al-Mada," Al-Bizri stated: "Symptoms do not necessarily distinguish between viruses, and diarrhea is one of the symptoms of this virus. We leave the mask for those infected and those surround by the infected." He added, "Masks are not necessary in daily life except for those in contact with infected individuals or those with severely compromised immunity; we advise them to wear masks. In Lebanon, we have high community immunity, reaching up to 90% according to some studies." Al-Bizri also commented on the situation in Ain al-Hilweh camp, saying: "The situation is calm, but some tension exists because the individuals involved in the clashes were known. We are keen on our people in the camps and, of course, on our people in Sidon."
