Ukraine Seeks Alternative Corridors for Grain Export

The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the president discussed with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday the possibility of establishing alternative "corridors" for exporting grain from Ukraine. Zelensky's office stated that he agreed with the European Commission President to continue "constructive dialogue" regarding efforts to lift the restrictions imposed by some neighboring countries on grain exports. Russia withdrew in July from a UN-backed agreement that allowed for grain exports from Ukraine through three Black Sea ports. Since then, Kyiv has launched what it calls a humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea for grain export.
