Al Ansar Inflicts First Loss on Al Bourj with 3-1 Victory

Al Ansar, the record holder for the most wins in the Lebanese football championship, handed Al Bourj its first loss with a score of 3-1 in a match held this afternoon at Fouad Chehab Sports Complex in Jounieh, during the seventh round of the 63rd league season. Al Ansar raised its points to 17, securing second place behind Al Bourj, which has 18 points from six victories.

Hassan Maatouk opened the scoring for Al Ansar in the 10th minute with a low shot from inside the area into the far-left corner of the net, assisted by Senegalese forward Haj Malik Tal. Haj Malik scored the second goal in the 31st minute, sliding the ball into the net after a "gift" pass from Maatouk, who broke the offside trap.

In the 48th minute of the second half, Khaled Takji scored to reduce the deficit for Al Bourj with a shot from the edge of the area into the right corner of the net. In the 68th minute, Haj Malik netted Al Ansar's third goal, shooting from inside the area past goalkeeper Abdul Karim Saleh after a one-two play with Maatouk. This marked the tenth goal for the Senegalese striker with his team this season.

Meanwhile, at the Amin Abdel Nour Municipal Stadium in Bhamdoun, Akhaa Ahli Aley clinched its first three points in the competition with a 2-0 victory over guest Salam Zgharta. The goals for Akhaa Ahli were scored by Mohamed Arnaout (own goal) and Mohamed Al Masry in the 38th and 61st minutes, allowing the mountain team to leave the last position. On the other hand, the Zgharta team faced its sixth loss, remaining with only three points earned from their victory over Hikma Beirut 1-0 in Jounieh.
