123 Violations Referred to the Judiciary

The Minister of Economy and Trade in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, stated on the "X" platform: "Today, I referred (123) violation reports to the judiciary, recorded by the inspectors of the Consumer Protection Directorate in the ministry, against importers, points of sale, owners of generators, restaurants, butcheries, and water purification plants, due to documented violations of the laws that protect consumer rights and criminalize any infringement on the Lebanese citizens' basic needs and manipulation of commodity prices and quality. I urged the judiciary to impose the strictest penalties against the violators to protect the rights of the Lebanese people, preventing crisis merchants from exploiting pressing circumstances to achieve exorbitant and unlawful profits."
