The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed today, Friday, that "Russian troops who destroyed German-made Leopard tanks and armored vehicles supplied by the United States used by Ukraine will receive additional rewards." The ministry stated, "This is part of a rewards program under which more than 10,000 Russian soldiers have received individual bonuses since the beginning of the war about 16 months ago."
The ministry mentioned that according to reports from Russian field commanders, "allocations are currently being disbursed to soldiers of the armed forces who destroyed during military operations Leopard tanks and other armored vehicles made in the United States and other NATO countries."
Additionally, it added, "Destroying any enemy armored vehicle means a reward of 50,000 rubles (596 dollars), while destroying a tank yields a reward equivalent to 100,000 rubles."
