Death of a Man After Participating in the London Marathon

Organizers of the London Marathon announced today, Wednesday, that Steve Shanks, 45, passed away while returning home after participating in the marathon last Sunday. They stated in a release that Shanks, a seasoned runner from Nottingham, completed the race in 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 26 seconds. They added, "A fundraising page has been created for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Steve." The cause of death will be determined later through a medical examination.
