The banking sector strike continues, exacerbating the situation as the Banks Association insists on changing the judicial course taken against banking institutions. There is growing concern about citizens' inability to withdraw money from ATMs and the potential for not receiving their salaries at the end of the month if the strike persists. Banking sources point out that "the situation remains unclear for banks, and it is unknown when the strike will end. However, the judiciary needs to take responsibility and be aware of the imminent danger to banks and Lebanon when accusing banks of money laundering, as this has several implications, mainly concerning correspondent banks."
In an interview with the electronic newspaper "Al-Anbaa," sources indicate that "the filling of ATMs continues without interruption, but it is unknown whether employee salaries will be disbursed if the strike continues until the end of the month." Meanwhile, living concerns are increasing, especially with the significant rise in the dollar exceeding seventy thousand, which will inevitably reflect in higher prices and an additional decline in the purchasing power of the Lebanese people.
