A large U.S. Navy aircraft crashed into the shallow waters of Kaneohe Bay in the Hawaiian archipelago on Monday afternoon, Hawaii time, after overshooting the runway at the Marine Corps Base in the Pacific archipelago.
The incident occurred around 1:57 PM while the Boeing P-8 Poseidon military aircraft was attempting to land. It veered off the runway and ended up in the shallow waters off the coast of Hawaii, as reported by Hawaii News Now. All nine people on board the aircraft survived and swam to shore.
