Israeli Police Reinforce Forces in Jerusalem Ahead of Friday Prayers

The Israeli police announced that they are mobilizing about 2,300 officers from the Jerusalem District and Border Guard, along with additional reinforcements, under the leadership of Jerusalem District Commander Doron Turjeman, in preparation to avoid clashes between worshippers and settlers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They stated, "In light of the tense security situation in Israel following dozens of rocket attacks from Gaza and Lebanon targeting the northern part of the country, in addition to tensions at Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Israeli police will reinforce their forces on the occasion of the third Friday of Ramadan," according to "i24" channel. Witnesses reported that settlers are bringing their weapons near the Al-Aqsa Mosque amid a heavy police presence. In a statement, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem emphasized that "Al-Aqsa Mosque will always be able to explode the situation because our people and resistance will not let the crimes of the occupation go unchallenged."
