The British Navy announced in a statement today, Tuesday, that it has seized quantities of drugs estimated to be worth more than £10 million in the Gulf and Indian Ocean. It indicated that it believes the source is Iran. The statement noted that a British Navy frigate "seized more than 7 tons of cannabis, heroin, and methamphetamine through two separate operations in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf while on a security patrol as part of its missions in the region." This comes less than a day after the conclusion of an intensive exercise for maritime security operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
