Tripartite Cooperation Between Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein on Tuesday, within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism that unites the three countries.

The foreign ministry spokesman clarified that the tripartite mechanism, which held its meeting on the sidelines of Cairo hosting the Arab contact committee concerning Syria, represents an important platform for joint efforts aimed at enhancing economic cooperation mechanisms among the three countries in various fields. Additionally, it serves as a venue for consultation and coordination on various regional and international issues of mutual interest, preserving Arab unity and safeguarding the security and stability of the countries and peoples in the region.

Ambassador Abu Zeid revealed that the foreign ministers of the three countries agreed to hold a follow-up meeting on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York next September, to accurately assess the implementation status of joint cooperation projects.
